Un puñado de cuentos maduros: los relatos de José María Sanjuán
Abstract
This paper is an approach to José María Sanjuán’s short stories, included in two books: El ruido del sol, 1968 (fifteen short stories about the bullfighting world) and Un puñado de manzanas verdes, 1969 (ten short stories in which the adolescence is a common theme). It is interesting to emphasize the marvellous recreation of environments (frequently it is more significant the psychological analysis of the characters than the story line), the affection for the defenseless (according to Sanjuán’s social preoccupation) and the lyric, nostalgic tone of these short stories.
