Abstract

Study of traditional music from Navarre compiled in the 1940’s for the Instituto Español de Musicología and now preserved at the CSIC (Spanish National Research Council), Mila y Fontanals Institution in Barcelona. The first section of the contribution describes the work on traditional music commissioned by the Instituto Español de Musicología, with especial attention to the so‑alled misiones folklóricas and traditional music competitions (concursos). The second section presents a first study of the preserved documents from Navarre, mainly 221 pieces compiled in the Misiones 4 and 5 (1944), developed by Luis Gil Lasheras and Father Jose Antonio Donostia, and in the 1947 competition of traditional music, to which Antonio Goya sent a study on the makil-dantza from Vera de Bidasoa...
