Abstract
In 1507, the kings of Navarre granted the charter of Buena Villa to Larraga and abolished Lerín county. After the conquest of 1512, the manor was restored and the fact that it ceased be effective, had resulted in numerous rights from the charter of 1507 (seat in parliament, freedom «from any other kind of peasant servitude», jurisdiction of the castle, mill). Unlike the state abolition of 1507, the charter was never withdrawn and the rights that prevented the county restitution, remained in place (free trade, fair, Berbinzana union, coat of arms). However, Larraga, like other noble tows with a charter, never forgot its full Buena Villa title, which was manifested in various ways: with many testimonies, documents recalling the history of the time, or emphasising its important contribution to the king.
