Abstract

Fermín Yzurdiaga was a Navarran priest who carried out a remarkable political and propaganda activity during the Spanish Civil War. His Falange membership earned him the «blue priest» nickname. The war, especially 1937, was both Fermín Yzurdiaga’s zenith and twilight. The political and ecclesiastical key Spanish figures were involved in some tensions due to the political behaviour the priest had at that time. The paper is based on unpublished documents found at the diocesan archive of Pamplona and the Vatican secret archives, as well as the daily newspaper Arriba España, run by Yzurdiaga.
