Abstract

The following paper deals with the commentary of a very attractive catalogue of roman inscriptions with indication of origo as the place of procedence of their agents, indication of origo that is connected with some of the cities that ancient sources, anytime, tribued to Vascones. Also some inscriptions with indications of the space of ancient Vascones as place of origin are considered. From those sources some reflections are made about what were the main demographic flow that, in Roman times, were responsible for the migration of those people and, also, about what were the causes –economic, personal, professional or political– explaining those travels leaded by individuals coming from ancient Vascones cities. Finally, a characterization of the main cities that –near or far away, even to other provinces– seemed to be atractive –and also beginning– points for those migrations of ancient Vascones is presented.
