Abstract

The main objective of this article is to first show the situation of the Mudejar in the kingdom of Navarre and then their conversion after four years of annexation of the kingdom by the Catholic Monarchs. In the first place, we refer to this Muslim minority which lived with a Christian majority in the same plot. The contact between them caused a peaceful environment more or less in the first centuries of Muslim domination. This cohabitation or coexistence began to break in Navarre from the eleventh century. In the second place, we try to elucidate the Mudejar people after the annexation of the Kingdom of Navarre in 1512. At that moment the Catholic Monarchs did not conceive the idea of converting the Mudejars, until the arrival of the new Habsburg monarch, Charles of Ghent.
