Construcción, técnica y mantenimiento en los molinos del puente mayor de Tudela durante los siglos XIV y XV [Construction, technique and maintenance in the mills of Tudela Bridge in the XIVth and XVth centuries]

Abstract

This paper deals with issues related to the technique –machinery and operation– and the construction –materials and possible appearance– of the mills of Tudela Bridge in the late Middle Ages. A glossary is also included listing the most frequent terms found in the detailed records of the baile de Tudela –a local clerk for the king– and in the extensive number of recorded papers documenting the transformation in the year 1377 of a flour mill into a fulling mill.
