La enseñanza artística en la Pamplona del siglo XIX a través de la familia Lipúzcoa [The artistic education in the Pamplona of the 19th century across the family Lipúzcoa]
Abstract
The current article deals with the education in the Fine Arts in the nineteenth century in Pamplona, the capital of Navarre, in Spain. The institutions that were in charge of encouraging the teaching of the Fine Arts in Pamplona were, in the first place, the Academy of Drawing, between 1827 and 1873. Ricardo Lipúzcoa was formed there, under the teaching of the Spanish painter, Miguel Sanz y Benito, whose paintings we analyze. The second institution was Pamplona’s Art School, founded in 1873, were Fermín Lipúzcoa –Ricardo Lipúzcoa’s son– was formed, under the teaching of Bienvenido Brú and Eduardo Carceller, teachers of the mentioned school.
