Abstract

This paper aims to study a type of ephemeral architecture, like religious monuments for the Easter period are, in the context of Navarre. In the first part, a complete definition on what they are, its origin in the baroque festival and its function has been established. Coming up next, a comprehensive study is done about the known monuments in Navarre, some already studied by several authors, others examined in the archives, and they have been organized in merindades.
