Abstract

This work/paper deals with the path of the immediate family and descendants of the republican, anticlerical and freethinker soldier Basilio Lacort Larralde (1851-1908), also known as the «Nakens Navarro». Most of his relatives followed his path. However, in the case of one of his granddaughters we have contradictory documentation that makes it difficult to reach irrefutable conclusions. This family saga was part of a minor liberal-republican trend of thought composed by teachers, doctors, lawyers, soldiers, civil servants, etc. who opposed to the hegemonic traditionalism that existed among their fellow countrymen from the second decade of the 19th century to the Civil War of 1936 to 1939.

As many of them, the Lacorts occupied several destinations outside Navarra.
