Medio siglo de la parroquia de Capuchinos de San Pedro de Pamplona (1952-2002) [Half a century of the Capuchin Parish Church of San Pedro in Pamplona (1952-2002)]
Abstract
The Parish Church of San Pedro was built onto Pamplona’s extramural Capuchin Convent in 1952, when the district grew as a result of immigration. The author studies the internal history of the parish church over these fifty years, analysing the development of sacramental ministerial care, evangelisation and charity. The Welfare Centre was opened in 1957. A true social centre (bar, dispensary, library, assembly room and cinema), it was turned, without abandoning its social activities, into a Branch Section of the Jiménez de Rada Secondary School in 1963. It was then a primary school until 1994. The paper concludes with a brief description of the various religious associations that have been based in the convent and parish church.
