Bandidaje y violencia fronteriza en la merindad de Sangüesa (siglos XIII-XIV) [Brigandage and border violence in the Merindad de Sangüesa (13th and 14th centuries)]
Abstract
The main goal of this paper is to provide an overview of the brigandage and border problems between the Pyrenean kingdoms of Navarre and Aragon in the area known as La Merindad de Sangüesa in the 13th and 14th centuries. Data has been collected from Eusko Ikaskuntza –Collection of Medieval Sources of the Basque Country– and the collection Acta Vectigalia Regni Navarrae from the Court of Auditors, which unites its records from 1259 to 1328, as well as hitherto unpublished documentation from the General Archive of Navarre.
