Mujeres y profesiones jurídicas en Navarra [Women and legal professions in Navarra]

Abstract

The work is focused on women and legal professions in Navarra. It has two parts: the first one, focuses on Maria Lacunza Ezcurra and Julia Álvarez Resano, first women lawyers in Pamplona, through a biographical method. The second part, evaluates the current presence of women in Navarra’s legal field, through the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data referring to female students and women practicing legal professions in Navarra. The analysis concludes with the conviction of the necessary incorporation of a gender perspective in the studies of Navarra’s Law History that includes women lawyers and their contributions as subjects and objects of historical knowledge.
