Leandro Desages y Domingo Dublán, primer estudio fotográfico en Pamplona (1860-1881) [Leandro Desages and Dominic Dublán, the first photography studio in Pamplona (1861-1881)]
Abstract
After arriving in Pamplona in around 1860, the photographer Leandro Desages created, alongside Domingo Dublán, the first enduring studio in the city in 1861, using the collodion process and the carte de visite format. It was set to last until 1881. Leandro left Pamplona in 1867, founding studios in several other cities, but Dublán stayed at the studio in Baños de Palacio or Cuesta de Santo Domingo, portraying Pamplona society, and obtaining the exclusive rights to reproduce the image of a person at an early date. The end of the studio coincided with the arrival of the dry plate and expropriation in favour of the army.
