Abstract

Varied and splendid forms of architecture, which can be defined by a complex link between the evolution of Romanesque styles and the incorporation of new Gothic elements, sprung up in Navarra and the rest of Southeast Europe between the Romanesque and Gothic periods. It is even difficult to find clear terms from historiography, where at times late Romanesque, early-Gothic, and first Gothic are used to refer to one and the same thing. A systematic study of Navarran buildings built in the last quarter of the XII century and the first third of the XIII shows that pillars and domes of Gothic conception accompanied late Romanesque planimetries.
