Abstract

This article is a summary of the history of Navarre’s archives: the archive of its ancient kings, those of the medieval monasteries, the archive of Pamplona Cathedral, parish and municipal archives; the first known inventory, of 1328, and the archive of the Cámara de Comptos; that of the Royal Courts of Justice, which, in 1559, had the first archivist; the notarial archives and that of the ecclesiastical curia; the organisation and inventories carried out in the archives of Comptos and the Law Courts in the 18th century.
