Abstract

This study of local history, based on archival research, summarises a work by the author on the same subject and under the same title. The different chapters deal with subjects of particular relevance to the history of a small locality, in this case the Valley of Yerri, a council which covers several hamlets: the territory (valleys and cendeas), the government of the valley by means of juntas (diputados, jurados), historical ups and downs, wars, mobilizations, confiscation, economy, contribution to the kingdom, arable and livestock farming, crops, pastures, use of the countryside, mills, culture (language, schoolteachers), health (doctor, surgeon, pharmacist, veterinarian), archpriestship of the Valley (provision of abbots by the residents of the village, first fruits, periodic meetings of clerics).
