Abstract

P. Tarsicio provides a full transcription and study of the Memoranda of Association of the Pamplona Guild of Merchants and Traders, written in 1599. The guild, of medieval origin, was refounded that year, establishing its headquarters in the chapel of Santa Barbara in the Parish Church of San Cernin and drafting memoranda of association or rules. These detailed the different aspects of the life of the guild: weekly mass, worship of the patron saint, assistance to sick members of the guild, acts to be performed on the death of a guildsman, internal positions, chaplain, ledgers, suffrages for deceased guildsmen, help to poor members.
